11:56 a woman riding on a giant swan descends from the ceiling, bubbles are everywhere, as Pan (half god, half goat) with a big stick descends from the ceiling in front of the stage. The countdown starts from 10, with Pan pounding his stick on the stage, and 10 fire shooters send fire streaks high up into the air from behind the stage. Thousands of pastel colored balloons fall from the ceiling. HAPPY NEW YEAR 2006!!!

Subject: Third Night of Phil Shows WOW! 12-31-05

I had made the pilgrimmage from Home of (Jack Straw)and birthplace of the song "Me & My Uncle".Great hometown crowd very Kind and generous with deserts.I couldn't have written a better set list. Seemed like After three shows in four nights they had ironed out all the bugs. Large crowd. I was so tired of John Mayers opening acts (same songs & rap each night) that I stood at the door and greeted folks coming into the Civic Center. Sure missed Uncle BoBo on New Years Eve. We achieved lift-off and between Phil Bombs, Joan's Voice & Larry, Barry & Ryan the tunes and riffs sang. If you haven't spent a New Years Eve at a Dead or related Family show in San Francisco you haven't really grooved yet. You can feel the energy of all our past brothers from the Family in the energy of the music and it never stops...Remember to be Kind now more than ever. ~Cactus Pete

Subject: Happy New Year!!!!!!

I had a lot of fun at this show. The crowd was in very "high" spirits, and the band was solid. Ryan Adams sang a lot a of the Jerry tunes in a very unique, fresh way... especially Terrapin, Stella Blue and Wharf Rat. I definitely prefer him to Chris Robinson. Larry Campbell is a master musician. John Molo, the man as usual.

i loved this show. once these guys really spend some time together they will kill it every night. good recording. thanks for putting it up. phil is the man!!!! can't wait for new york

Subject: Good stuff

Very nice sounding recording (for all 3 nights, especially the 29th). A tad muffled, but certainly above average and most definitely worthy of a download.
Joan's vocals are nice (she's really in the background a lot for this show), Ryan seems like he still might have a touch of "food poisoning" and still mixes up lyrics here and there (which is o.k. IMO, it adds a little something different) but the Ripple is lethargically bad.
Overall, a cohesive show .The Sugar Mag take has a nice twist and rocks hard, (i.e. Molo).
Other standouts: Scarlet (very nice jamming between Larry and Ryan), a well-played Deal, and Joan kicks ass on Sugaree. The Terrapin is solid, as well.
Thanks for making them available so quickly, too.
